In 2008, I went to the isolated Kalagutage (Black Mountain) by passing through the folds of the Kunlun Mountains with my friends. There, I shot my first documentary as well as these photos. During the stay of Kalagutage, I recorded the traditional way of life of the locals with my camera. I think that in the near future, with the completion of the road to Kalagutage, all the traditional and unique ways of life will finally disappear. It will eventually become the same as the outside world with no uniqueness. By then, maybe my photos will be the best evidence to prove that Kalagutage once existed.
